A fine-art nude and glamour photography event in beauty of the Sierra Nevadas
Photographers Andrew Widdowson and Gosia Rybka, in concert with a talented roster of model artists, will produce a photographic series of lovely, artful juxtapositions of the female form with the seemingly infinite waters, gentle rocks, and wide open skies of Lake Tahoe. Images will include bodyscapes draped within the forests of the area; dynamic movement flanked by the flowing waters of the lake; and structural/textural compositions against stone and trees alike, arising from the water. With ample breaks for rest, we will make use of the nature of Tahoe from pristine sunrise to colorful sunset, making symmetries and asymmetries through geometric shapes created by interwoven duos, trios, and larger ensembles of the shoot's participants.
We will also have mid-day and evening availability for shooting. Boudoir/glamour style shooting, and the unique sparks concept, will be shot at our accommodations, as time permits, and will be secondary to model rest and recuperation. We will also mix in some fashion looks throughout our travels.
Lake Tahoe is a freshwater lake in the Sierra Nevadas, residing across both California and Nevada. Lake Tahoe is the largest alpine lake in North America. The lake was formed about two million years ago as part of the Lake Tahoe Basin. It is known for the clarity of its water and the panorama of surrounding mountains on all sides.
"Tahoe is surely not one but many. As I curve around its heads and bays and look far out on its level sky fairly tinted and fading in pensive air, I am reminded of all the mountain lakes I ever knew, as if this were a kind of water heaven to which they all had come.”
― John Muir
“As it lay there with the shadows of the mountains brilliantly photographed upon its still surface, I thought it must surely be the fairest picture the whole earth affords.”
― Mark Twain
“There’s a magic that happens at Lake Tahoe – a quiet enchantment that captivates your soul.”
― Ansel Adams
If we can ensure a private water taxi, we may also make a day hike to Lake Aloha, which the SF Gate calls "one of Tahoe's best hidden lakes." The water is simply sublime!
Quick side note: there is not much diversity in regards to ethnicities or body types in my example works above. I wish to change that. Thank you for your understanding.
Fine art nude photography celebrates the figure and form of the human body; it is not lude or crude, instead emphasizing shapes, curves, and emotions. Art nude photography can take many forms, through a studio, a boudoir, or as is our theme for this shoot: juxtaposed with sweeping landscapes and environments. Thus, environmental fine art nude photography places the models in the context of a structure (whether a slot canyon, a great salt lake, or a historical blast furnace!)
